Calibration Process — Step by Step

Receipt & Phase Configuration

3-phase power meter received. Phase configuration (3W or 4W), CT ratio (if CT input), voltage range, and current input documented.

3-Phase Reference Source Setup

NABL-traceable 3-phase power standard (synchronized V and I sources) connected. Phase angle and power factor set precisely.

5-Point 3-Phase Power Calibration

Active power calibrated at 5 setpoints at PF=1 (balanced 3-phase). W per phase and total 3-phase W verified against 3-phase reference.

PF = 0.5 & Reactive Power Calibration

VAR, VA, and PF readings verified at 0.5 power factor lagging. Reactive energy (kVARh) calibrated for applicable meter types.

Energy Accuracy Test

For energy meters: 3-phase kWh percentage error tested at rated load and minimum load. IEC 62053-22 sequence for Class 0.2S, 0.5S meters.

NABL Certificate Issue

NABL CC-2480 certificate with 3-phase power data, deviations, uncertainty (k=2), IEC 62053 / IEC 62053-22 traceability.
