Depyrogenation
— WHAT IS OVEN / THERMOGRAPHY VALIDATION —
Oven validation provides documented evidence that your hot air oven or thermal processing equipment consistently maintains the required temperature uniformly at all chamber positions — essential for depyrogenation, drying, sterilization, and curing processes under GMP requirements.
Depyrogenation oven must achieve 250°C ≥30 min at coldest point
EU GMP Annex 1 (2022) requires that all glass containers used in sterile manufacturing be depyrogenated in a validated hot air oven at minimum 250°C for 30 minutes at the coldest point of the load — and this must be documented with mapping data from a qualified validation cycle.
An unvalidated oven = GMP deviation for every batch processed
If an oven used for depyrogenation, drying, or sterilization is not validated, every batch processed in that oven is potentially non-compliant — triggering batch rejection, investigation, and regulatory notification.
Infrared thermography identifies problems data loggers miss
Defective heating elements, failed door seals, insulation degradation, and hot/cold spots on the oven shell cannot be detected by internal data loggers. Infrared thermography detects these thermal anomalies non-destructively, preventing product quality failures.

— OUR PROCESS —
Review oven specifications: heating system, temperature control, number of probes, chamber volume, airflow configuration, door seal, and controller type. DQ verifies design meets URS and GMP requirements for intended use (depyrogenation, drying, sterilization, annealing).
Verification that the oven, temperature controller, over-temperature safety cut-off, recorder/data logger connections, door seals, and utilities are installed per approved drawings, manufacturer specifications, and site requirements.
Empty chamber temperature distribution study with minimum 9–12 NABL-calibrated data loggers placed at standardised positions. Minimum 3 consecutive runs at all set-points. Temperature uniformity and stability evaluated against acceptance criteria.
Loaded mapping with product or load simulant at worst-case loading configuration. Temperature at coldest point verified to meet process requirement (e.g., 250°C for depyrogenation, minimum 30 min for endotoxin 3-log reduction).
Infrared thermal imaging of oven shell, door seals, heating elements, and exhaust system to identify hot spots, cold zones, insulation failures, and thermal bridging — non-destructive, instantaneous thermal map of the entire oven surface.
Complete DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ validation report with all temperature mapping data, uniformity analysis, thermography images (if performed), deviation log, and conclusion — GMP-ready within 7 days.
