Testing
— WHAT IS ETP/STP TESTING —
ETP/STP effluent testing is the laboratory analysis of treated wastewater discharged from industrial Effluent Treatment Plants (ETPs) and Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) — to verify compliance with GPCB discharge limits under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974. Testing by a NABL-accredited or GPCB-approved laboratory is mandatory for every industry in Gujarat.
Mandatory GPCB Discharge Compliance
All industries must treat effluent to meet GPCB consent discharge limits before release to CETP, water body, or land. Monthly or quarterly testing by NABL-accredited laboratories is required.
NABL Accreditation Required by GPCB
GPCB accepts water and effluent testing reports only from NABL-accredited or GPCB-approved laboratories. Prism's NABL CC-2480 covers all 50+ water and effluent parameters.
ETP Performance Monitoring
Regular effluent testing tracks your ETP treatment efficiency over time — identifying deteriorating performance before it leads to consent limit exceedances and GPCB enforcement.

— OUR PROCESS —
Our 6-step effluent testing process follows NABL and GPCB requirements — from onsite sampling to compliance-ready reports.
Review of your GPCB consent discharge conditions — parameters, limits, monitoring frequency, and sampling points (ETP inlet, intermediate, and outlet; CETP junction; STP discharge). Sampling plan prepared per IS and APHA standard methods.
NABL-trained sampler collects composite or grab samples from your designated sampling points using sterilized, pre-preserved containers. Sampling follows IS 3025 protocols — volume, preservation, and transport conditions maintained per parameter requirements.
All samples logged with unique identifiers, collection time, preservation status, and chain-of-custody documentation. Transported under controlled conditions (ice, dark, correct temperature) to our NABL laboratory within required holding times.
All parameters analyzed at our NABL-accredited laboratory CC-2480 using IS/APHA/EPA standard methods. BOD by 5-day incubation, COD by potassium dichromate, heavy metals by AAS/ICP-OES. Full QA/QC with method blanks and spike recoveries.
Each parameter compared against your GPCB-specified discharge limits (General Standards GSR 422E, industry-specific notifications, or CETP discharge standards). Exceedances flagged with root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.
Comprehensive water/effluent analysis report in NABL format with QA/QC documentation, GPCB compliance table, and ETP/STP performance summary. Ready for GPCB submission with consent renewal application and Annual Environmental Statement.
