What Is a Cyclone?
A cyclone separator uses centrifugal force — not filter media — to separate solid particles or liquid droplets from a gas stream. Dust-laden gas enters tangentially, creating a spinning vortex. Centrifugal force throws particles outward to the cyclone wall, where they spiral down into a collection hopper. Clean gas exits through the central vortex finder at the top.
Because cyclones have no moving parts and no filter media, they require virtually no maintenance and can operate continuously 24/7 in harsh conditions including high temperatures (up to 500°C), high dust loading, and corrosive or abrasive gas streams. E Industries manufactures standard single cyclones, multi-cyclone batteries, and high-efficiency cyclones in CI, mild steel, SS304, and abrasion-resistant alloy construction.

Zero Maintenance Operation
Unlike bag filters that require periodic filter replacement, cyclone separators have no consumables, no filter bags, and no moving parts. This makes them ideal for remote locations, continuous processes where shutdown is not possible, and applications handling very hot, sticky, or abrasive dust.
Pre-Separator for Bag Filters
Installing a cyclone upstream of a bag filter removes 80–95% of the coarse dust load before it reaches the bags. This dramatically extends bag filter life, reduces pulse-cleaning frequency, and lowers the operational cost of the total system.
GPCB Stack Compliance for Coarse Dust
Many brick kilns, foundries, wood processing units, and grain mills emit primarily coarse particulate matter (>10µ). A properly sized cyclone can achieve SPM levels compliant with GPCB norms without the capital and operating cost of a bag filter system.
Product Recovery in Process Industries
In spray drying, flash drying, and fluid bed operations in food and pharmaceutical processing, the product itself is the airborne solid. Cyclones recover valuable product from the exhaust air stream, reducing product loss and preventing atmospheric discharge of saleable or regulated materials.
